I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
